Frequently asked questions
- What's the difference between Standard and Pro?
- Standard is the core clock — kiosk mode, job tracking, timesheets, and reports — and you add modules à la carte. Pro includes every add-on (payroll, HR, GPS, check signing, ERP integration, approvals, and white-label) in one price.
- One-time or monthly — which should I pick?
- Both get you the same software. A one-time license is a perpetual, self-hosted purchase with one year of updates and support. Monthly is a subscription you can cancel anytime, with updates and support included while active. Use the toggle in Pricing to compare.
- Where does my data live?
- On your server. Timeclock installs on any VPS or on-premise box running Ubuntu 22.04/24.04. Your employee data never leaves your infrastructure.
- How is it delivered?
- Right after checkout you get an email with a signed license key and a secure download link (valid 48 hours). The included install.sh sets up Nginx, the database, and SSL for you.
- What do I need to run it?
- A Linux VPS (Ubuntu 22.04/24.04 or Debian 12) with at least 1 GB RAM, MariaDB or MySQL, a domain name, and about 15 minutes. The installer sets up Nginx/Apache, the database schema, and SSL for you.
